Going to Jamaica

We started our trip to Jamaica on Monday morning, right after I got off work.
We got to the airport around 9:30 for our flight at 12:10. First stop after check in and security was TGIFridays for some breakfast!

Ready for some breakfast and Jamaica!
After breakfast, we waited at the gate. While we were waiting we looked up dogs for adoption. Why? Because we love dogs. I would have a house full if I could!

Anyway, we finally boarded the plane, but weren't able to sit together. We were both on the aisles next to honeymoon couples. The point is, there was no sleeping for me on the plane. I didn't want to accidentally lean on the new husband sitting next to me!

The flight was almost 3 hours. After finally getting through customs, we were able to find the Sandals lounge and our bus driver to take us to Ochos Rios. We heard the bus ride was about 2 hours. I have no idea how long it took because by the time I got on the bus I couldn't keep my eyes open! I slept until we stopped at a little restaurant for a drink. Jason got some jerk chicken (he LOVES jerk chicken). This is when we found out that Jamaica has coca cola light. We had it in Nicaragua, and it's way better than Diet Coke!

Yum
We finally arrived at the resort and got checked in. This Sandals has a hillside (where we were) and a seaside. It's huge! Our awesome travel agent had put in for us to get an upgrade if it was available, and since the resort wasn't full, we got it! Our room was beautiful!

I love all the dark wood
Bedroom
Huge Bathroom!

After checking out the room it was time to get ready for dinner. The resort has several restaurants that I checked out online before we came. Jason said he was in the mood for seafood, so I told him Neptune's would be the place to eat!

Ready for dinner!

Neptune's was an open air restaurant on the beach. We were able to see the ocean from our table.

The food at Neptune's was delicious. The company was fabulous too! I laughed until I cried over Jason telling about how my head kept bobbing while I was asleep on the bus! I am so thankful that we were able to go to Jamaica and spend this time together celebrating our anniversary!

  1. So cool to see your pictures!!! We were on the hillside too and I loved it. Next time we're definitely going for a villa :) I don't think Neptune's was open when we were there. They were doing tons of construction last summer. Glad you had such a good time! Now I'm dying to go back :)
