Our Story

Summer of 2004 Jason came on at my church as a youth intern. I was starting my senior year of high school, and he was starting his senior year of college. We became friends, but never thought of each other as anything more than that. After Jason finished up his internship, I saw him a few times, but we weren't really in touch. In the summer of 2006, we reconnected over Facebook and decided we should get together to catch up. Both of our schedules were busy, so we ended up not being able to get together before I went back to college that fall. Jason had told me he wouldn't mind coming to hang out while I was at school. The Monday after school started I gave him a call to see if he was free that evening. It worked out for him to come down after dinner. We decided to go get ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery and then go to a movie.
We saw the movie Pulse and even had the theater all to ourselves! Neither of us went into our "date" expecting it to be a real date, but we had a great time and were holding hands by the end of the night! We have been together ever since.

On a beautiful Sunday in November, Jason agreed to take me hiking. We love to hike, and I had been wanting to go. We usually go to Helen to hike, but this time Jason took me to Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Although we had been talking about marriage and getting engaged, I was not expecting Jason to propose to me that day. When we finally reached the top, we stopped to take some pictures of the beautiful views. Then we found a place to sit and talk. The future became our topic of conversation. Jason asked if I trusted him, to which I replied yes. It was then that he pulled the ring box out of his pocket and got down on one knee. When he asked me to marry him, I said yes! I became the official bride-to-be on November 1, 2009.

After a year and a half of planning and finally finishing pharmacy school, Jason and I were married on May 21, 2011. You can find all the details about the wedding in my wedding post and see my favorite professional photos here! It was a fabulous beginning of our new life together.
